Insects in Spring 2002

Keep a lookout for some of these insects in your garden or when around Zandvlei. 
List others you see and identify them from a library book or check them against the Zandvlei Nature Reserve specimens. 

 


A Common stripped Hawk Moth caterpillar making short work of an Arum liliy leaf.



This Dragonfly resting on a dried up flower stalk before resumming its hunt for things to eat.



A Cabbage butterfly caterpillar eating a Clover leaf.



A nest of Lapped moth caterpillars in a Bitoebessie bush.



A Spider hunting Wasp, it also captures caterpillars.



Early morning dew on a spiders web.



A Rain spiders nest.
