Greater  Zandvlei  Estuary  Nature  Reserve

 The River Maintenance Team.

This week started off with the team working in the northern area off Henley Road.

Neville Williams is the team leader. Last year he worked in the Nature Reserve assisting Eddie Moses and learning his way around the Reserve. Zandvlei Trust sponsored his salary for part of last year. He had previously been a volunteer at the Capricorn Library prior to that, where he met Sharon McCallum and Alice Ashwell. He assisted them with bringing Capricorn school children to sponsored educational outings at Zandvlei during the school holidays.

The River Maintenace Team are a part of the City of Cape Towns Alien Invasive Spiecies Unit. "Our Team" will be working in parts of the Sand River Catchment area. They started working in our Catchment in January 2012.
All the team members live within walking distance to the Nature Reserve.
