Entries for the Zandvlei Trust 2026 Calendar Photo Competition are open!

We are looking for wonderful images taken of birds, wildlife, landscapes, people enjoying themselves or anything else about Zandvlei and its immediate surrounds.

How it works

1. The theme is Zandvlei — conservation and community.
2. Maximum 3 entries per person and need not be taken in same year.
3. Send your images to photos@zandvleitrust.org.za before 31 October 2026. Images should be at least 1Mb and in jpg (compression low or not less than 8) or tiff formats.
   
4. Entires open to Juniors and Adults. Junior entrant must be 16 years of age or younger in 2026.

Entry guidelines

1. Photos must be taken within the Zandvlei Estuary and its surrounding shoreline, including Lakeside, Westlake and Muizenberg extending 100 meters on either side of Zandvlei Mouth.
2. Photographers are encouraged to highlight Zandvlei, conservation and community in their subject matter. These can be wildlife, birds, landscapes, activities, or people having fun or with an environmental angle.

Terms

1. Winners will be notified during November 2026, exact date to be confirmed closer to the time.
2. The winners images will be included in a glossy printed calendar which and will be sold to raise funds for the Zandvlei Trust and to support its activities.
3. Ownership remains with the photographer, but photographer grants non-exclusive single use right to Zandvlei trust for all submitted photos.
4. Images will be used in our newsletters and social media.
5. A special event will be held end of November, to show all the finalists, to hear what the judges have to say and to hand out the prizes and hand over the floating trophy for the best image of 2026.
6. All entrants images entered may be used by the Zandvlei Trust in its marketing media.
7. The Zandvlei Trust undertakes to credit all images wherever used online or in print.
