Sand River Nets

The nets were first installed by Marina resident Michael Ryder, in light of the higher authority’s failure to effectively address the problem. Since then the trust has taken on the plight of their care.

The metal grids are designed to protect nylon nets from the worst of the winter flood deluge, which could include tree trunks, old car engines, builder’s rubble, fridges, sofas, and the occasional dead animal.

Next steps is to install a second inter-locking grates.

Our efforts to limit litter come down the canals with every rain event are only possible with your support. Help us continue this vital work.
